About Me
Kirstie is a private physiotherapist fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), offering personalised physiotherapy care in Strathaven and the surrounding area
Kirstie graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1998 with BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy, and started her career at Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary. Since then she has gained a breadth of physiotherapy experience across both public and private sectors, including the NHS, private clinics and private health insurance.
A short break from the profession allowed Kirstie to fulfil her own sporting ambitions, where she represented Great Britain at World and European Championships and Scotland at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Olympic Weightlifting.
During her own competitive days, Kirstie was the Strength and Conditioning Lead for the West of Scotland Institute of Sport at it's inception and subsequently the High Performance Strength and Conditioning Coach at Glasgow School of Sport.
On retirement from competitive sport, Kirstie had a short break from the profession, and experienced a very different aspect of life, before returning to physiotherapy pre-COVID, where her assessment and treatment skills were refined and re-invigorated.
In 2023, Kirstie completed Seasonal Yoga Teacher Training, bringing a different dimension to life and recovery.
Kirstie's approach combines the precision of evidence-based physiotherapy treatment, with the holistic healing of yoga principles, offering a balanced, whole person approach to recovery, wellness and wellbeing.
